Upgrading Directory Server Enterprise Edition 6 to 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.5.0)

The upgrade procedure is a simplified procedure, which makes use of existing instances with the 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.5.0) installation. After the instances are upgraded, they cannot be used with the previous version installation. So take a filesystem backup before upgrading server instances (not dsadm backup or dsconf backup) and restore them whenever required.
