System firmware 9.1.0 and newer support the Extensible Firmware Interface GUID Partition Table (EFI GPT) disk label functionality. Earlier versions of the system firmware fail to boot disks with the EFI GPT label and display an error message similar to this on the host console:
{900} ok boot Bad magic number in disk label Can't open disk label package No viable default device found in boot-device variable.
To enable the server to boot from EFI GPT labeled disks, update the system firmware to version 9.1.0 or newer.
