SPARC: How to Boot From the Network

For the first step in this procedure, see the examples provided in the previous sections.

Before You Begin

Ensure that your role has the appropriate rights profiles to perform this procedure. See Using Rights Profiles to Administer Boot Features.

  1. (Optional) Perform either or both of the following steps.
    • Specify the appropriate values for the network-boot-arguments parameter.
    • Set up an NVRAM alias to always use DHCP.
  2. Bring the system to the ok PROM prompt.
    $ init 0
  3. Boot the system from the network.
    ok boot net

    Note -  If you skipped Step 1, type the following instead:
    ok boot net:dhcp
