Non-primary root domains can be used by the direct I/O and SR-IOV features. This feature is supported on the SPARC T4, SPARC T5, SPARC M5, and SPARC M6 platforms and Fujitsu M10 platforms.
Hardware Requirements.
In addition to the PCIe cards for the direct I/O and SR-IOV described in https://support.oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show&type=NOT&doctype=REFERENCE&id=1325454.1, other PCIe cards can be used, but not for DIO and SR-IOV. To determine which cards you can use on your platform, see your platform's hardware documentation.
Firmware Requirements.
SPARC T4 platforms must run at least version 8.4.0.a of the system firmware.
SPARC T5, SPARC M5, and SPARC M6 platforms must run at least version 9.1.0.x of the system firmware.
Fujitsu M10 servers must run at least version XCP2210 of the system firmware.
Software Requirements.
All domains must be running at least the Oracle Solaris 11.1.10.5.0 OS or the Oracle Solaris 10 1/13 OS plus the required patches in or the Oracle Solaris 11.1.10.5.0 OS.
