How to Install the LLDP Package

By default, LLDP is enabled and ready to be used after you have completed installing the LLDP package.

1. Become an administrator.

   For more information, see Using Your Assigned Administrative Rights in Securing Users and Processes in Oracle Solaris 11.3.

2. Install the package.

   # pkg install lldp

3. Determine whether the LLDP service has started.

   # svcs lldp
   STATE          STIME    FMRI
   online         Jul_10   svc:/network/lldp:default

   If the LLDP service is disabled, start the service with the following command:

   # svcadm enable svc:/network/lldp:default
