Distributing Collection and Calculation Functions

Figure 1 - 3 shows the Oracle Sales Compensation Collector module, which collects compensation transactions from Oracle Receivables or an external source, and transfers them to the Calculator for further processing.

The Oracle Receivables application instance from which you collect compensation transactions must reside in the same database as the Oracle Sales Compensation Collector instance (Figure 1 - 4). The Calculator instance can reside in the same database, or in a different database (on the local machine or a remote machine).

To associate the source data columns with their transaction attributes in Oracle Sales Compensation, you map data transferred from the data source to Oracle Sales Compensation as described in Mapping Transaction Attributes to Receivables Attributes.

Data transfer between the collector and calculator happens through SQL*Net remote procedure call. You control the size of the data transfer batches using a system parameter in Oracle Sales Compensation (see Specifying the Transfer Batch Size).
