Defining Function Space and Asset Inventory Status Indicators

Revenue managers can manage the display of function space in the Function Space Diary by specifying the colors used to denote the inventory status of function spaces as well as specifying the line patterns that signify setup and tear down times.

This task is a step in Process of Defining Day Parts, Status Indicators, and Translations.

Defining Turntime and Time Interval Information for Function Space Display

The revenue manager typically defines the display patterns (for example cross-hatched, downward hatched, and so on), that denote setup time and teardown time in the Function Space Diary.

To define turntime and time interval information

  1. From the application-level menu, choose Navigate > Site Map > Function Space Administration > Function Space Diary Administration.
  2. In the FSD Administration form, complete the fields.
    1. In the Turntime Information section, select the display pattern type in the Setup Time and Tear Down Time fields.

      For example, select CROSS HATCHED.

    2. In the Time Interval Information section, select values in the Time Scale, Start Time, and End Time fields.

For example, select Time Scale = Day/Hour.

Defining Function Inventory and Asset Inventory Status Display Colors

The color scheme for inventory and asset statuses can also be defined. By default, the Function Status list includes:

  • Actualized
  • Dependency
  • Option Reserved
  • Optioned
  • Overbooked
  • Reserved
  • Reserved Shifted
  • Temporary
  • Unreserved

Each of these function space inventory statuses can be mapped to a different color for easy identification in the function space diary.

The Inventory Status list for asset inventory includes:

  • Not Available
  • Not Booked
  • Not Enough Assets
  • Booked
  • Double Booked

NOTE:  In this list, the user should map the booked and double-booked asset inventory status because the other statuses unnecessarily fill up the asset inventory Gantt control chart.

To assign status colors to inventory and assets

  1. From the application-level menu, choose Navigate > Site Map > Function Space Administration > Function Space Diary Administration.
  2. From the FSD Administration form, scroll down to the Function Color Schema list, and then click New.
  3. In the new record, select an inventory status, and assign a color.
  4. Scroll down to the Inventory Status Color Schema list, and then click New.
  5. In the new Asset Inventory record, select a status and assign a color.
