Setting Up Rates for Different Sleeping Rooms

When setting up rates for sleeping rooms, the administrator first sets up the default rates and then creates exception pricing.

This task is performed as part of Sleeping Room Administration, and is a step in Process of Setting Up Pricing and Property Pricing.

Creating Default Prices

The administrator defines the default sleeping room pricing types and then sets the rate for each type. The defined rates apply to the sleeping room types when the active flag is set.

To create default sleeping room prices

1. From the application-level menu, choose Navigate > Site Map > Property Pricing Admin.
2. In the Properties list, query for the property record.
3. In the property record, click the link in the Property Name field.
4. Click the Sleeping Room Pricing Type view tab.
5. In the Sleeping Room Pricing Type list, add a record.
6. Complete the necessary fields, and save the record.

   The Start Day and End Day fields are automatically populated based on the Effective Start Date and Effective End Date.

   Some of the fields are described in the following table.

   Field	Comments
   SR Type	Type of sleeping room.
   Description	Automatically populated if a description of the sleeping room type exists.
   Exception	When selected, indicates an exception to the benchmark rate for the sleeping room type is defined. If you create a new record and do not click the exception flag, the new record overrides any previous benchmark rate for the day.
   Effective Start Date	Effective date for the exception. The exception flag must be set.
   Effective End Date	End date of the exception, if the record is flagged as an exception.
   Active	When selected, indicates the benchmark rate, or the exception, is active.

7. Scroll down to the Sleeping Room Rates list.
8. Complete the Rate field for each Day of Week record.

   The following table describes some of the fields.

   Field	Comments
   Day	Automatically populated with the days of the week.
   Price/Rate	The defined benchmark or exception rate.
   Currency	Automatically populated, based on the currency set for the property.

9. Save the records.

Creating Exceptions to Default Prices

The administrator can define exception rates for each sleeping room type for each day of the week.

To create exception pricing

1. From the application-level menu, choose Navigate > Site Map > Property Pricing Admin.
2. In the Properties list, query for the property record.
3. In the property record, click the link in the Property Name field.
4. Click the Sleeping Room Pricing Type view tab.
5. In the Sleeping Room Pricing Type list, add a record, click the Exception flag field, and complete the remaining fields.
6. Scroll down to the Sleeping Room Rates view.
7. Complete the Rate field for each Day of Week record, and save each record.
