Creating Hospitality Product Subcategories


Use the Category Administration screen to create product subcategories. After product subcategories are created, the administrator can associate them with Hospitality products and charge codes.

This task is a step in Process of Setting Up Products and Assets.

To create a product subcategory

  1. From the application-level menu, choose Navigate > Site Map > Category Administration.
  2. In the Categories list, select the category, and then click the Sub Categories view tab.
  3. In the Sub Categories list, add a record, complete the fields, and save the record.

    Name is the only required field.

To create notes for categories

  1. From the application-level menu, choose Navigate > Site Map > Category Administration.
  2. In the Categories list, select the category, and then click the Notes view tab.
  3. Designate a note type by selecting a value for Type, and then complete the Note fields.

    The following fields should automatically populate:

    • Sequence
    • Created
    • Created By

      NOTE:  Notes are displayed under the category name in the Banquet Event Orders (BEO) report and the Schedule of Events (SOE) report. The sequence number determines the order in which the notes get printed for the BEO and the SOE reports. For more information on creating reports, see Siebel Reports Administration Guide.
