Creating Simple Products for Hospitality Events
Use the Product Administration screen to create the simple products that can be grouped to create complex products. This task is a step in Process of Setting Up Products and Assets. To create a simple product in Hospitality
- From the application-level menu, choose Navigate > Site Map > Product Administration.
- In the Products list, create a new product record and complete the fields.
The following table describes some of the fields.

Name |
The product name. |
Part Number |
The part number for the product. |
Type |
The type of product. Examples are Menu, Package, Sleeping Room, and Setup Style. |
Organization |
Automatically populated with the name of the default organization. The user can change the selection, and add more than one organization, specifying one as the primary. |
UoM |
The unit of measure used for the product. For example, if coffee is the product, the unit of measure might be pounds. |
Child Category |
The subcategory for the product. |
Category |
This field is automatically populated after a subcategory is specified. |
Parent Category |
If there is a category hierarchy, the top-level category. |
Property |
The location of the product. |
Resource Type |
Determines whether or not the item is automatically reserved for an event. Available values are Critical, General, and Non-Critical and are drawn from the LOV. |
Set-Up Time |
Minutes needed to set up a product. |
Tear-Down Time |
Minutes needed to tear down a product. |
