Communications Drivers Provided by Siebel Systems
The communications drivers provided by Siebel Systems are described below. For more information, see Communications Drivers and Third-Party Systems.
Voice/CTI Driver
The following communications driver supports voice communications for Siebel CTI:
- Dialogic CTI. Supports CTI functionality for Siebel CTI Connect (using Intel NetMerge). For more information, see About Siebel CTI Connect.
Push Channel Keep-Alive Driver
The following communications driver provides a heartbeat function for push communications using Communications Session Manager:
- Push Keep Alive. Provides a heartbeat function for push communications using Communications Session Manager. For more information, see Using Push Keep Alive Driver for Session Connections and Other Communications Drivers.
User-interactive Email Driver
The following communications driver supports email interactivity within the Siebel application, enabling agents using Siebel eMail Response to use the communications toolbar. For more information, see Supporting Email Interactivity.
- User-interactive Email. Supports agents working with email work items.
Email/Fax Driver
The following communications driver supports email and fax in several Siebel application contexts. For more information, see Interfacing with Email and Fax Servers.
- Internet SMTP/POP3 Server. Supports Internet mail servers that support the SMTP protocol for outbound email or fax or the POP3 protocol for inbound email. This driver supports both plain-text and HTML email. For more information, see Siebel-Validated Email Servers.
Wireless Messaging Drivers
The following communications drivers support wireless messaging. For more information, see Communications Server and Siebel Wireless Messaging and Using Wireless Messaging.
- Wireless Messaging 1-Way. Supports outbound wireless messaging using SMS, TAP, and SMTP wireless message types. Requires Siebel Wireless Messaging.
- Wireless Messaging 2-Way. Supports inbound and outbound wireless messaging using SMS and other wireless message types. Requires Siebel Wireless Messaging.
- WAP V1.2. Supports WAP Push messaging using the Wireless Application Protocol version 1.2.
- WAP V1.1. Supports WAP V1.1 Push (HDML) messaging to Openwave browsers.
Paging Driver
The following communications driver supports the Telocator Alphanumeric Paging (TAP) protocol. For more information, see Other Communications Drivers.
- Modem-based TAP Paging. Supports paging over a modem using TAP, for outbound communication requests. This communications driver is a feature of Siebel Paging. (The Send Page command does not use this driver.)
NOTE: Siebel Paging is included with all base applications of the Siebel eBusiness Applications. The module Siebel Wireless Messaging is available as an alternative to Siebel Paging.
FTP Driver
The following communications driver supports File Transfer Protocol (FTP). For more information, see Other Communications Drivers.
- FTP. Supports File Transfer Protocol. This driver is used by Siebel Marketing to send contact lists to vendors who are contracted to execute campaigns. It can also be used to send outbound communication requests from any Siebel application.
