Siebel eBusiness Applications will run slowly on HP-Apache2 Web servers unless you make the following changes to the
httpd.conf
configuration file.
- Edit the
/etc/privgroup
file. If it does not exist, create it. Add the following entry to the file:
apache_group_name
RTPRIOwhere:
apache_group_name
= the group name containing the username that owns the Apache server. Save the file and exit.- In the shell, execute the following command:
setprivgrp -f /etc/privgroup
- Add the following to the file
$
APACHE_ROOT
/bin/startapa
, at the beginning of the file:rtprio 127 -$$
Save the file and exit.
Deploying a Reverse Proxy Server with IHS and HP-Apache2
To implement Siebel eBusiness Applications on a Web server that is placed behind a proxy server, you can deploy only Siebel applications that support the standard interactivity client on a Web server instance that is placed behind a reverse proxy server. You cannot deploy Siebel employee applications, such as Siebel Call Center, or other Siebel applications that support the high interactivity client.
