Scanning Batches

Follow these steps to scan a batch.

  1. In the Scan Profile field on the Client Screen, select a scan profile.

The scan profile contains the scanning settings to be used. If needed, ask the Capture administrator which scan profile to use. Instructions, if provided, are displayed in the Profile Description field.

  2. Place the documents on the feeder tray of the scanner.

  3. Click the Scan button. Oracle Distributed Document Capture begins scanning the documents.

    Note:

If you encounter problems while scanning, and the scanner will not scan, first check that the cables are properly connected.

When done, the batch is added to the Existing Batches table and selected.

    Note:

The batch may be immediately displayed in the Review/Index screen, if the Auto Review/Index batch after scanning field is checked in the Settings Screen.

  4. Click the Review button.

    Tip:

You can also double-click a batch in the Existing Batches table to review it.

  5. In the Review/Index Screen, review, edit, and index the batch. See "Indexing and Editing Documents".
