Create or Edit Manual Notification

To learn what notifications are and what they are used for, refer to What You Can Do with Notifications.

Note: You must have permission to create manual notifications. If you think you are supposed to be able to create manual notifications, but you do not see the Create Manual Notification button, contact your portal administrator.

To create or edit a manual notification:

  1. If the Manual Notification Editor is not already open, open it in one of the following ways:

  2. In the Send On box, type the date on which you want this notification to be sent, or click to select a date from a calendar.
    Note:
    The Send On date can not be later than the start date of the earliest task.

  3. Public notifications can be viewed by the recipients' managers. If you do not want anyone other than yourself and the recipients to be able to see this notification, select Make Notification Private.

  4. In the Priority drop-down list, select the importance of this notification (high, normal, or low).

  5. In the To box, specify the users or notification lists to whom you want to send this notification:

  6. In the Subject box, type a brief description of what this notification is about.

  7. Under Message, type the text of your notification and format it as desired (for example, you can change the font or add hyperlinks or images).

  8. In the User Defined Tasks section, specify the tasks associated with this notification:

  9. To include an attachment (for example, a flyer) with the notification, click Documents. For more information, refer to Select Documents.

  10. To associate approved tips with this notification, click Tips. For more information, refer to Select Tips.

  11. Select the categories to associate with this notification. Users can filter by category, so make sure the categories you select are relevant.

  12. When you are done, click Finish.
