To create or edit a task:
If the Task Editor is not already open, open it in one of the following ways:
To create a task in a task list, in the Task List Editor, click Create Tasks.
To create a task associated with a manual notification, in the Manual Notification Editor, click Create Tasks.
To create a task associated with a system notification, in the System Notification Editor, click Create Tasks.
To edit a task in a task list, in the Task List Editor, click the name of the task.
To edit a task associated with a manual notification, in the Manual Notification Editor, click the name of the task.
To edit a task associated with a system notification, in the System Notification Editor, click the name of the task.
In the Name box, type a clear and concise title for the task.
In the Description box, type a thorough description of what the task entails. The description can include a link to additional information (for example, detailed instructions). You can enter URLs like http://www.bea.com separated by spaces, commas, semicolons, returns, or parentheses.
Specify when this task should begin:
If you are creating task for a manual notification, in the Start Date box, type the date on which this task should begin, or click the date picker icon to select a date from a calendar.
If you are creating a task for a system notification or a task list template, in the Start After box, type the number of days that should elapse after the notification is sent before the task should begin. For example, if you enter a Start After date of 1, and the notification is sent on Wednesday, the task will start on Thursday.
Specify when this task must be completed:
If you are creating a task for a manual notification, in the Due Date box, type the date by which this task must be completed, or click the date picker icon to select a date from a calendar.
If you are creating a task for a system notification or a task list template, in the Due After box, type the number of days that should elapse after the notification is sent before the task must be completed. For example, if you enter a Due After date of 1, and the notification is sent on Wednesday, the task must be completed on or before Thursday.
In the Duration box and drop-down list, specify the length of time you suggest this task will take.
If you are creating more than one task, repeat Steps 2-5 until you are done, then click Finish. If you have created 5 tasks you will be asked if you want to create more.
When you are done, click Finish.
