A notification is a message sent to one or more recipients that includes one or more tasks that the recipients must complete. There are two types of notifications:
A manual notification is sent on a one-time basis to one or more users. For example, you might create a manual notification asking store managers to set up a display associated with a new promotion.
A system notification is automatically sent to one or more users when a particular equation is met. For example, you might create a system notification that will alert general managers to order more stock when inventory of a product falls below a certain level.
Note: The low resolution version of the Notifications tab does not display the System Notifications folder, the Rules folder, or the Task List Templates folder. If you think you are supposed to be able to manage system notifications, rules, or task list templates, contact your portal administrator.
