Cloning Master Data Entries

This page is one in a series of pages for specifying the details of a cloning operation. You can change the values of attributes in individual cloned entries or globally change values in multiple cloned entries.

Required Changes for New Entries
This first page in the cloning sequence lists the cloned master data entries you are in the process of creating. Values for the required Name and ID attributes for each entry are listed. You can edit the values for Name and ID on this page, display individual master data entries for review and editing, or globally change values of selected attributes.
Do one of the following:
- Click in a cell in the Master Data Entry Name column or the ID column to edit the attribute value. IDs must be unique for this type of master data entry.
- Click Next to globally change the values of selected attributes in all the cloned master data entries.
- Click Review to view or edit individual cloned data entries.
- Click Cancel to cancel the process.
Column Display
Name Description Master Data Entry Name The name of the cloned master data entry. When you clone a master data entry, a new name is created, based on the name of the original master data entry. For example, "Dock 1" may become "Dock 1-clone0."
ID The ID of the cloned master data entry. When you clone a master data entry, a new ID is created, based on the name of the original master data entry. For example, "urn:epcglobal:epcis:vtype:BusinessLocation:HQ" may become "urn:epcglobal:epcis:vtype:BusinessLocation:HQ-clone0." The ID must be unique for this type of master data entry.

Name Description Back This option is not available on this page.
Next Go to the next page to globally change the values of selected attributes in all the cloned master data entries.
Review Review the cloned entry and, optionally, edit attributes in this entry only. If you review the entry immediately after cloning, only the required Name and ID attributes will be changed. (Choose Next to assign new values to selected attributes in all the cloned entries.)
Finish This option is unavailable if you have not yet clicked Review or Next to review or modify the cloned entries.
Cancel Cancel the cloning operation without saving the cloned master data entries.
