Create master data entries


To create a master data entry:

  1. In the left pane of the Console, expand Master Data Entries.
  2. Click the name of the master data type on which you want to base the new master data entry.

    For information about why you do this, see View and edit master data entries.

  3. On the Master Data Entries page for the selected master data type, click New.
  4. On the Master Data Entry Details page, enter a Master Data Entry ID, specified as a valid URI.

    For more information about working in this page, see Configuration Options.

  5. [Optional] Choose a master data type from the Master Data Type drop-down list to create a master data entry based on a master data type other than the one you chose in step 2, above. If you want to create a master data entry based on the master data type you selected in step 2, do not select a different master data type here.
  6. [Optional] Add one or more master data entries as children to this master data entry.

    For instructions, see Add child master data entries.

  7. Specify values for each attribute in this master data entry. This list of values is the list of values defined in the master data type upon which this master data entry is based. To create or change the value for an attribute, click the Value cell for the attribute.
  8. Click Save.
