BEA SALT provides a native Web service stack for Tuxedo. It enables you to access Tuxedo services via the SOAP/WS-* protocol. BEA SALT is configuration-driven. You can easily export most existing Tuxedo services as Web services without having to do any programming tasks. This document will guide you through BEA SALT installation on top of Tuxedo.
Before installing BEA SALT, ensure the following prerequisites are met.

The BEA SALT software is distributed as an installation program for Windows or UNIX systems. The BEA SALT installation program supports three installation methods. You can use any of these methods to install the BEA SALT product software:
BEA SALT is distributed on both the Web and CD-ROM.
An evaluation copy of BEA SALT is available for download from the BEA corporate Web site at http://commerce.bea.com/downloads/tuxedo.jsp#tuxedo. When downloading BEA SALT, you must also download an evaluation license, which allows you to use the BEA SALT software for a 30-day trial period. Anytime during the 30-day trial period you may purchase a non-expiring license for your BEA SALT product by calling or e-mailing BEA Customer Support. Platform-specific installer files for the BEA SALT product software are available for download from the BEA corporate Web site.

Shortly after purchasing BEA SALT on CD-ROM, you will receive a non-expiring BEA SALT product license via e-mail.
