How to Use the Online Help

Since the BEA TUXEDO Builder Rose Expert functions as a plug in to Rational Rose, you need to open the Rational Rose Application to get Help on the Rose Expert (and to see the Rose Expert itself).

To bring up Help on a main topic, choose Help->BEA TUXEDO Builder from the Rational Rose Help menu and select any of the following sub-menu topics:

• Product Overview - Explains what Rose Expert is and gives an overview of the application development tasks you can accomplish with the Rose Expert Application Builder GUI

• Visual Modeling of TUXEDO Applications - Explains how to use the Rose Expert with Rational Rose

• Tasks - Explains how to use each task window. (You can also access this help information for a particular window by pressing F1 while that window is open.)

• Application Programming Interface - Summarizes the Rose Expert application programming interface (API) modules, interfaces, methods, parameters, and so on

• Sample Application Code Walk-Through -Description of the sample application created using the Rose Expert along with code walkthrough showing how the sample application was developed. (The sample application is included as an option in the BEA Builder installation.)

• Keyboard and Menu Shortcuts -Listing of all keyboard and menu shortcuts avaliable from the Rose Expert graphical user interface (GUI).

• Windows and Dialogs Reference - Explains how to use each task window. (You can also access this help information for a particular window by pressing F1 while that window is open.)

• About Rose Expert - Provides version and copyright information

You can also click the Help button on any task window that is currently open. You can use the Alt key combinations described in Keyboard and Menu Shortcuts as an alternative to using the menus.

Figure 1 shows the online help with the clickable table of contents/index window.
