Using the Request/Response Model (Asynchronous Calls)

To make an asynchronous call, a client calls two ATMI functions: the tpacall(3c) function, to request a service, and the tpgetrply(3c) function, to retrieve the reply. This method is commonly used when a client has tasks it can do between issuing a request and receiving a reply.
