What's New in WebLogic Integration 7.0 SP7
In addition to delivering fixes to known problems, the
following enhancement has been added for tracking and managing
workflows.
Parent-child relationships between workflow instances
when a child workflow was started via an internal JMS message (post
XML Event action) can now be tracked because the
wli.bpm.server.trackeventparent environment property has
been added. To enable tracking, set this system property to
true on the java command line used to start WebLogic Server
as -Dwli.bpm.server.trackeventparent=true
In addition, parent-child instances can now be managed
because the -includeChildren and -checkParent options
have been added to the BPMAdmin utility. The
includeChildren option causes child instances of a workflow to be
archived or deleted along with the parent. The checkParent
option verifies that the parent instance has completed before allowing
the deletion of a child instance.
What's New in WebLogic Integration 7.0 SP2
BPM Command Line Administration Tool
Provides administrative capabilities for a deployed
system without using WebLogic Integration Studio. It includes the
following capabilities:
- Activate and deactivate templates definitions.
- Delete templates.
- Import and export Templates, Template Definitions, Business
Operation Definitions, Repository Entities, Users, Roles, and
Organizations.
For more information, see Using
the BPM Command Line Administration Tool.
Instance Data Archiving
This feature is part of the BPM Command Line Administration
Tool. Instance Data Archiving provides the ability to remove completed
workflow instances from a database and archive instance data to
files in XML format. For more information, see Using
the BPM Command Line Administration Tool.
File Plug-in
The File Plug-in offers basic actions for working
with files from a locally accessible file system. For working with
remote file systems, it provides basic Get and Put functionality
via FTP. For more information, see Using
the File Plug-In.
JSP Worklist
The new JSP-based Worklist replaces the deprecated
Swing-based Worklist client. The JSP Worklist provides the same
functionality as the Swing-based client. Additionally, to allow
customizing the JSP Worklist for deployment, the source code for
all pages and classes are included. For more information about this
feature, see Using the WebLogic
Integration JSP Worklist.
WebLogic Integration BPM and WebLogic Workshop
Interoperability Sample
Originally this sample was available on the BEA dev2dev
center. An expanded version of this sample is now included in the
WebLogic Integration SP2 release. The sample demonstrates how Web
services and workflows can exchange messages in a loosely coupled,
asynchronous fashion. The sample demonstrates two scenarios where
BPM workflows and Workshop Web Services exchange messages using
SOAP over HTTP and plain XML over HTTP. For more information, see
the WebLogic Integration BPM -
Workshop Interoperability Sample.
Migration From Earlier Release of WebLogic Integration
Information and utilities are provided to help you
migrate your applications to WebLogic Integration 7.0 SP2. The following
migration paths are available:
- WebLogic Integration 7.0 SP1 to WebLogic Integration 7.0 SP2
- WebLogic Integration 7.0 GA to WebLogic Integration 7.0 SP2
For complete information about migrating your WebLogic
Integration applications, see "Migrating
Domains Created Using the Configuration Wizard" in the
WebLogic Platform Release Notes and "Migration"
in the WebLogic Integration Release Notes.
What's New in WebLogic Integration 7.0
Support for WebLogic Server 7.0
WebLogic Integration 7.0 supports WebLogic
Server 7.0. They are both components of WebLogic
Platform 7.0.
Support for Creating Custom WebLogic Integration
Domains
Domain and cluster creation are simplified by a Configuration
Wizard that lets you generate domains from WebLogic Integration,
business process management (BPM), or enterprise application integration
(EAI) domain templates. Based on user queries, the Configuration
Wizard generates a domain, server, and enterprise application with
the appropriate components pre-configured and assets included. For
more information, see:

Support for PointBase Database
Samples run, out of the box, on the bundled, 100%
pure Java relational database management system (RDBMS) from PointBase.
For more information, see:

the B2B Integration Samples
Security
WebLogic Platform 7.0 provides a redesigned WebLogic
security service, on which WebLogic Integration security functionality
is built. It includes a Keystore for storing private keys and the
public key certificates associated with them. In applications based
on previous releases of WebLogic Integration, private keys and the
certificates associated with them, were stored on the file system.

Best Practices in Designing Business Process
Management (BPM) Workflows
Provides guidelines and recommendations for designing
WebLogic Integration workflows. For more information, see Best
Practices in Designing BPM Workflows.
Reliability, Scalability, and High Availability
WebLogic Integration 7.0 provides enhanced features
to support clustering for scalability and high availability, and
has provisions for failover in the event of hardware or network
failures. For more information, see:

Migration to WebLogic Integration 7.0
Information and utilities are provided to help you
migrate your applications to WebLogic Integration 7.0. If you are
migrating from a release prior to WebLogic Integration 2.1, and
you want to minimize the number of migration steps, first migrate
from the earlier release to WebLogic Integration 2.1 SP1 and then
migrate to WebLogic Integration 7.0. For complete information about
migrating your WebLogic Integration applications, see the BEA
WebLogic Integration Migration Guide.
