BEA Workshop Studio Family of Products User Guide

The BEA Workshop Studio family of products are a set of IDEs built on the Eclipse platform that simplifies development of standards-based development (Struts, JSP, Spring, JSF, Hibernate, JPA, Tiles) for deployment on a variety of application servers including Tomcat, JBoss and BEA WebLogic Server.

The BEA Workshop Studio family of products consists of four separate products

All Workshop Studio products extend the Eclipse IDE, allowing you to create projects, develop applications, and run and debug web applications on standard application servers.

The documentation that you will see in this user guide depends on the product that you have installed (links below will not be active for products that are not installed) :

  • BEA Workshop Studio includes all of the other products in the family. Studio also provides database and O/R mapping tools for Hibernate and JPA (BEA Kodo or generic).
  • BEA Workshop for Struts is tailored for developing Struts applications.
  • BEA Workshop for JSF integrates tools for developing to web applications using Java ServerFaces (JSF).
  • BEA Workshop for JSP and its documentation are included with every Workshop Studio product. Workshop for JSP is available as a free download from BEA.
