Navigating Siebel Mobile Applications in Portrait Mode

You navigate Siebel Mobile applications in portrait mode in much the same way as in landscape mode, except for the following differences:

  • The home page displays only the application banner and the list view by default. That is, there is only one pane in portrait mode.
  • When you tap a record from the list, the record details are displayed in full screen mode, minimizing the list view.
  • To show the list view again, you must tap Back on the application banner.

The following procedure shows you how to navigate Siebel Mobile applications in portrait mode. This procedure assumes that your mobile device is in portrait mode.

To navigate Siebel Mobile applications in portrait mode

  1. Start the browser on your mobile device.
  2. Enter the URL address for the Siebel Mobile application, and then log in to the application as shown in Logging In to Siebel Mobile Applications.

The following interface elements are displayed on the home page of Siebel Mobile applications in portrait mode:

    • Application banner. The application banner appears along the top of the home page, and persists for all views.
    • Right pane. The right pane or work area displays list information according to the object that is selected on the application banner.
  3. To display the details for a record, tap that record in the list.

The record details are displayed in full screen mode, minimizing the list view (that is, the list view disappears). The first four or five fields in the record are displayed. To display any additional fields, tap Show More. The header bar typically displays the following: Menu button, New (+), and Edit icons.

The related items (or child objects) that can be associated with the record are displayed below the record details. For example, if you are using the Siebel Mobile application for Siebel Pharma, then the related items for Accounts are: Contacts, Calls, and Addresses. However, if you are using the Siebel Mobile application for Siebel Service, then the related items for Accounts are: Contacts, Service Requests, Assets, and Entitlements.

  4. To open and review an associated related item, tap a related item below the record details.
  5. To show the list view again, tap Back on the application banner.
  6. To navigate to another list view, tap another option on the application banner.
