Inserting Named Blocks in an Email Treatment


The following procedure shows how to insert named blocks in an email treatment. For additional information about named blocks, see About the Named Blocks Personalization Element.

To insert named blocks

  1. Navigate to the Offers screen, then the Email Treatments view.
  2. In the Treatments List, click an email treatment.
  3. Select a template to edit.
  4. From the If Then Rules menu, choose Insert Block.
  5. In the secondary menu, choose a merge field.
  6. In the tertiary menu, choose a merge field to be personalized.
  7. Select a location in the template to insert the block.
  8. Click the Insert Rule button to insert the block to be personalized.
  9. After inserting the named block, you must define the values that have personalized content as follows:
    1. From the If Then Rules menu, choose Create Block.
    2. Click the Value button and enter the value of the personalized item to be linked to this block.
    3. Click in the workspace after the previously inserted Insert Block statement.
    4. Click the Insert Rule button.
    5. Place conditional content between $(DefineBlock "merge field") and $(EndBlock) statements.
