Overview

The minimal services required on a network to support JavaStation clients includes:

Setting up the minimal configuration for the JavaStation network environment involves the following tasks. These tasks are describes in detail in the sections that follow:

  1. Preparing for configuration

    1. Completing the Network Computer Configuration Checklist (see Appendix A, Network Computer Configuration Form)

    2. Verifying that the web server is running

  2. Starting the Netra j administration interface

  3. Setting up name services

  4. Setting the web server document root

  5. Defining boot server global parameters

  6. Setting up the JavaStation clients

    2. Updating JavaOS (JavaStation systems with flash memory only)
