How to Add a CPU Module (CMOD) to the Server Using the Upgrade Kit

Use this procedure to change the configuration of your server using the CPU module upgrade kit.

Before You Begin

  1. Prepare the server for service. See How to Prepare for Service.
  2. Place the server in standby power mode. See Power Modes.
  3. Remove the filler module from the slot. See How to Remove a CMOD Filler.
  4. Install the CMOD into the slot. See How to Install a CPU Module (CMOD).
  5. Prepare the server for operation. See How to Prepare for Operation.
  6. Boot to the BIOS Setup Utility and configure the server for the new CMOD.
