You can configure the OSPFv3 hello interval to specify the interval between the hello packets sent on the interface. The hello interval value must be the same for all routers attached to a common link. Values are 1-65535 seconds.

This example configures VLAN 10 with a hello interval of 40 seconds.

  1. Configure the hello interval through the CLI.
    SEFOS(config)# interface vlan 10
    SEFOS(config-if)# ipv6 ospf hello-interval 40
    SEFOS(config-if)# end
  2. Ensure that the correct hello interval is set for the specified interface.
    SEFOS# show ipv6 ospf interface vlan 10
