OSPFv3 Administration Guide
Routers that act as gateways (redistribution) between OSPF and other routing protocols (IGRP, EIGRP, RIP, BGP, static) or other instances of the OSPF routing process, are called ASBRs. An ASBR must be enabled for routes to be redistributed from other protocols.
This example configures router 10.0.0.1 to act as an ASBR.
