Java Management Extensions (JMX) is a framework is a Java technology that can be used for accessing monitoring and configuration information. Information about JMX is available at http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/core/mntr-mgmt/javamanagement/. Java SE 5 includes the Java Management Extensions as a core part of the Java platform.
The directory server uses JMX for publishing information from monitor entry. It also uses the JMX notification mechanism for administrative alerts in the event of significant problems or events in the server.
