Selecting Test Groups and Individual Tests

You can select entire test groups or individual tests. The test mode and tests that you choose to run depend on your desired test strategy.

For example, if you are using SunVTS to troubleshoot intermittent SCSI bus errors you might choose to test the entire SCSI group in Functional Test mode to thoroughly test the whole subsystem. Then you might select specific SCSI devices to see which device reproduces the error.

In another example, you might want to validate a newly installed system before you put it in production. In this case you would choose to test all the groups in Functional mode for a specified period of time.

If you want to verify the connectivity of a particular device such as an option card, peripheral, or communication device, you might choose the Connection Test mode for that device.
