Description Events caused by I/O cards, such as replacing them. This includes: 
  • SBus cards
  • PCI cards
  • CPCI cards

    Notes Upgrades of SBus, PCI, or cPCI cards are always annotated with Planned - System Management - Configuration Management.

    The cause code category Planned - System Hardware contains cause codes for CPU System Boards, I/O Boards, and System I/O Boards. Use the following three cause codes according to the following rules:

    1. If a CPU is on or can be inserted onto the board, use Planned - System Hardware - CPU System Board (even if the board also contains SBus, PCI, or cPCI slots).
    2. If the board contains only SBus, PCI, or cPCI slots, use Planned - System Hardware - System I/O Board Upgrade/Maint.
    3. All maintaining events concerning SBus, PCI, or cPCI cards are assigned to Planned - System Hardware - I/O Board Upgrade/Maint.
