Description Events caused by CPU System Boards (such as replacement), including all boards with CPU slots (even if the board also contains SBus, PCI, or cPCI slots).

    Notes CPU System Board upgrades are always annotated with Planned - System Management - Configuration Management.

    The Planned - System Hardware cause code category contains codes for CPU System Boards, I/O Boards, and System I/O Boards. Use these three cause codes for maintenance tasks on the board according to the following rules:

    1. If a CPU is on or can be inserted onto the board, use Planned - System Hardware - CPU System Board (even if the board also contains SBus, PCI, or cPCI slots). 
    2. If the board contains only SBus, PCI, or cPCI slots, use Planned - System Hardware - System I/O Board Upgrade/Maint.
    3. All maintenance events concerning SBus, PCI, or cPCI cards should be assigned to Planned - System Hardware - I/O Board Upgrade/Maint.
