Description Events (normally failures) caused by System I/O Boards. This includes all boards containing only SBus, PCI, or cPCI slots.

    Notes The Unplanned - System Hardware Failure category contains cause codes for CPU System Boards, I/O Boards, and System Interface Boards. Use these three cause codes according to the following rules:

    1. If a CPU is on or can be inserted onto the board use Unplanned - System Hardware Failure - CPU System Board for unplanned events (even if the board also contains SBus, PCI, or cPCI slots).
    2. If the board contains only SBus, PCI, or cPCI slots, use Unplanned - System Hardware Failure - System Interface Board for unplanned events for a board
    3. All unplanned events for SBus, PCI, or cPCI cards are assigned to Unplanned - System Hardware Failure - I/O Board
