Preview Queue

The archiver and stager processes can both request that media be loaded and unloaded. If the number of requests exceeds the number of drives available for media loads, the excess requests are sent to the preview queue.

By default, preview requests are satisfied in first-in-first-out (FIFO) order. You can override the FIFO default by entering directives in the preview command file, which is written to /etc/opt/SUNWsamfs/preview.cmd. For more information about using this file, see Prioritizing Preview Requests.
