Once you have created the alert, you can add it to the PAF using the Alerts tab in the Portal Administration. To add a new alert:
- Enter the Portal Administration and click on the Alerts tab. 
- Click either New Administrative Alert or New Framework Alert on the side navigation bar. 
- Enter the following information about the new alert and click Save: - Message Name - A name that identifies the message. This is not a unique identifier. - Message Type - The message type is the full package name of the message type, for example: - atg.portal.messaging.OrangeAlert- The message type is a unique identifier. - Resource Bundle - The full package name of the resource bundle used by the message type, for example: - atg.portal.messaging.MyMessageResources
Select a radio button to indicate how this alert can be configured:
User alerts not allowed
Alerts allowed, but not user-configurable
Alerts allowed, configurable by user
