This chapter provides a reference for the XML elements and attributes used in the ATG Search queries. Search supports six query types:
Query—The most commonly used query type, retrieves matching statements from the index. See the
queryelement.View Item—Retrieves source content for view within the application. See the
viewInContextelement.Browse—Retrieves content items using the index structure. See the
browseelement.Categorize—Assigns categories to request text. See the
categorizeelement.Similar Text Retrieval—Retrieves documents that are similar to others in text content. See the
similardocselement.Structured Query—Performs multiple input queries on structured content. See the
structqueryelement.
Each element is represented as a section, with its attributes. Note that some attributes are used in similar ways in more than one element; however, each occurrence is treated separately for ease of lookup.
Each query type is supported in ATG Commerce by a specialized form handler. See the ATG Commerce Search Guide for details.
