The dlpi_mactype() function returns a pointer to a string that describes the specified mactype. Possible MAC types are defined in <sys/dlpi.h>. The string is not dynamically allocated and must not be freed by the caller.
Upon success, the function returns a pointer string that describes the MAC type. If mactype is unknown, the string “Unknown MAC Type” is returned.
