The Sun Server X4-2L Service Manual that is included on the Oracle System Assistant USB flash drive, which is embedded in the server, needs the following correction:
The TLI is stored in the FRUID (field-replaceable unit identifiers) of these components: power distribution board (PDB), motherboard (MB), and disk backplane (DBP). This statement is incorrect. The TLI is actually stored in power supply 0 (PSU 0), the MB, and the DBP.
The IO menu PCI Subsystem Settings option in the BIOS Setup Utility is disabled by default. This statement is incorrect. The default setting for this BIOS option is “enabled.” For more information on the impact of enabling this option, see Oracle Solaris 10 1/13 Does Not Support PCI Subsystem Settings Option Enabled in the BIOS Setup Utility IO Menu.
The following note should be added to “Install Power Supply” procedure:
The Sun Server X4-2L Service Manual shows an incorrect procedure and example for installing a processor in the server. Replace the procedure and example for step 16b under "Install a Processor" with the following:
b. To clear the fault identified in Step 16.a, type the following command:
> set /SYS/MB/P0 clear_fault_action=true
For example:
> set /SYS/MB/P0 clear_fault_action=true Are you sure you want to clear /SYS/MB/P0 (y/n)? y Set ‘clear_fault_action' to ‘true'
