Setting up a default printer can be completed through different methods:
Configuring either the LPDEST or PRINTER environment variables
$ export PRINTER=printer-name
Or:
$ export LPDEST=printer-name
Using the lpoptions command:
$ lpoptions -d printer-name
Using the lpadmin command:
$ lpadmin -d printer-name
