Managed Oracle Server Requirements

Oracle servers must have the correct software installed and be configured properly. For a complete list of supported Oracle hardware and firmware, see:

You should always consult the Oracle HMC web site prior to installing Oracle HMC for Netcool/OMNIbus to ensure that you have the proper hardware and firmware installed.

Review the following table for a list of supported monitoring methods and software requirements.

Monitoring Method	Software Requirement
SPARC or x86 server monitored from the host operating system	Oracle Hardware Management Agent software and its associated Oracle SNMP Hardware Plugins must be properly installed and configured on the Oracle x86 or SPARC server. Note that Netcool/OMNIbus agents do not need to be installed on the managed Oracle server.
SPARC or x86 server monitored from the Oracle ILOM SP	Oracle ILOM firmware version 2 .x or higher must be installed on the SPARC or x86 server SP. Note that Netcool/OMNIbus agents do not need to be installed on the managed Oracle server.
x86 server monitored from the Embedded LOM SP	Embedded LOM firmware version 2.91 or higher must be installed on the x86 server SP. Note that Netcool/OMNIbus agents do not need to be installed on the managed Oracle server.
