Each server has up to four DCUs, which are the building blocks of PDomains. Each DCU has two or four CMUs that have two memory boards and two CMPs. Each DCU is managed by its own SPP, which monitors environmental sensors and manages the CMUs, memory controller, and DIMMs within the DCU. The Active-SP and SPPs communicate over a private VLAN to manage the system.
One IOU, which contains:
Sixteen PCIe expansion slots, populated with:
- One quad-port GbE NIC for the management network
- Four dual-port IB HCAs
Four EMS cards, each with two 10 GbE ports
Eight hard drives
Two or four CPU memory units (see CMU Overview for more information)
For SuperCluster M6-32, you can have either one DCU or two DCUs associated with each PDomain, depending on the type of configuration you choose. See Understanding PDomains for more information.
