Data validation
During data entry, the OutcomeLogix application validates the information entered and might require you to change your entries before you can navigate to another form or use the Save Only function to save the data without submitting the form. The following scenarios are possible:
- The validation check identifies errors that must be corrected before the submitted form can be accepted or saved (for example, incorrect formats for an email address or phone number, or passwords that do not match). You cannot continue to another form, or save the data, unless you correct these errors.
- The validation check identifies errors that must be corrected but allows you to override the error and submit the form. If the application issues a query about the entry, you can correct it later.
- The validation check issues queries for items when you submit the form and displays an Open Query status icon (
) next to the items. These automatic queries usually occur when an entered value falls outside the expected range. The presence of these queries does not prohibit you from moving forward to the next form. - To reveal the issue, point to the query.
- To display the query in the Query Detail window and make changes without leaving the form, click the Open Query status icon (
). - To see how many open, answered, and closed queries have been issued for a patient, click the Patient Summary link in the navigation pane. For more information, see Patient Summary page.
- To answer, approve, and close queries, click the Queries navigation icon (
) to open the Query list page.
