This section details the login process to the ORMPOS server and explains how a Commerce Service Center (CSC) session between ASA and ORMPOS is shared. When ASA first launches, the associate must login to the application. ORMPOS implements a similar mechanism of identification for the caller of its web services. For ASA to successfully invoke ORMPOS web services, it also must login to the system before any calls can be made. The ORMPOS server maintains state for a session using a keep-alive service to ensure the connection does not time out.
