Artech enhanced the user experience for its over 57,000 users by adopting PeopleSoft fluid features and global search


Artech, in conjunction with their partner Kovaion Consulting, upgraded from PeopleTools 8.57 to 8.60.04, from HCM PI 21 to PI 45, and from FSCM PI 22 to PI 46. They used this opportunity to give their over 57,000 users a better user experience with fluid employee and manager self-service and global search. They have adopted PeopleSoft configuration frameworks to isolate customizations, converting them to configurations. They are now ready to adopt several of the newly delivered application features and dashboards.

Artech kicked off an upgrade project in November 2022 with the goal of modernizing operations, leveraging global best practices, and enhancing the end-user experience. This included a PeopleTools upgrade and HCM and FSCM PUM image updates.

Personalized user experience

Artech has rolled out the fluid user interface (ESS and MSS) to all its over 57,000 vendors, contractors, and administrators. The newly delivered fluid pages and screens were branded with styles and logos (specifically designed for Artech).

To enable seamless search, global search has been configured for navigation search. Content-based search for the core modules like Workforce Administration, Absence Management, and Time and Labor is planned.

A Notification tile was created to share the latest news with employees. A Reports tile for quick access to important reports was created on the homepage using navigation collections for ease of navigation and as a one-click solution.


The upgraded PeopleSoft application leverages the PeopleSoft fluid branding framework to deliver a consistent and seamless look and feel to the employees.

Isolation of customizations and reduction of technical debt

Artech and the Kovaion team identified over 50 customizations, which were isolated by using event mapping, Page and Field Configurator, and other delivered tools and frameworks.
