About Oracle Solaris Operating System Installs
This section contains an overview of the process to install a new Oracle Solaris operating
system (OS) on your Oracle Server X5-8.
Note -
If the Oracle Solaris OS factory option is preinstalled on your server, but you do not
want to use it, you can install any other supported operating system or virtual machine
software on your server.
If the Oracle Solaris OS was preinstalled, it was installed with the server UEFI/BIOS
Boot Mode set to Legacy. If you choose to boot the server with the UEFI/BIOS Boot Mode
set to UEFI, the preinstalled image will not be accessible. If you want to use the
Oracle Solaris OS with the UEFI/BIOS Boot Mode set to UEFI, you must perform a fresh installation.
