Required System Software Packages

Before you execute the Oracle Developer Studio 12.5 compilers and tools, verify that the system on which you are running the software has the required system packages. The following table lists the required software packages for each supported operating system.

Note - developer-studio-utilities and studio-runtime are “group” packages, which are an IPS shorthand to simplify installation of groups of related packages. They consist entirely of dependences on other packages but have no content of their own.

studio-runtime is a group package that installs system runtime support libraries used by programs compiled using Oracle Developer Studio compilers. Examples include the Fortran and Sun Performance libraries. It should be installed on systems where applications are deployed.

developer-studio-utilities is a group package that installs studio-runtime and system utility programs used by programmers using Oracle Developer Studio. Examples include make, sccs, and assemblers. It should be installed on systems where Oracle Developer Studio 12.5 is deployed.
