Default Primary Warehouse in RF (G32)
Purpose: Use this screen to default an item/SKU's primary warehouse, as identified in the SKU table, to several screens in the Radio Frequency Transactions (RFMN) menu option.
About RF: You can use RF (radio frequency) to manage your inventory with a radio frequency device. Although you can advance to the RF menus from a standard CWSerenade screen, the RF menus are designed for use on an RF gun, where you can either enter or scan in information. Normally, you will have warehouse staff who advance directly to the RF menus when they sign on, as they will always be using the RF guns. See Radio Frequency for more information on
Defining the primary warehouse: You define an item/SKU's primary warehouse on the Create or Change SKU (Base Information) screen for non-SKUed item, or the Create or Change SKU 1 of 2 (With Overrides) screen for SKUed items. See Performing Initial Item Entry (MITM).
Performing multiple RF transactions: If you remain on an RF Put screen to perform multiple transactions, the system clears the warehouse default between each transaction so that the correct primary primary warehouse defaults for each transaction. For example, if you process an RF Receiving Put transaction for one LPN and then remain on the screen to process another RF Receiving Put transaction for another LPN, the system clears the default warehouse after you process the first transaction and then does not default a warehouse for the second transaction until you scan the LPN barcode on the LPN label or manually enter the company and LPN number.
Yes/no field: Select this field to default an item/SKU's primary warehouse, as identified in the SKU table, to several screens in the Radio Frequency Transactions (RFMN) menu option.
Leave this field blank if you do not wish to default an item/SKU’s primary warehouse to several screens in the Radio Frequency Transactions (RFMN) menu option.

The warehouse defined for the first warehouse default location record with a location type of Return defaults; see Working with Default Warehouse Locations (WWDL). Note: You cannot override the warehouse that defaults for the RF Return Pull transaction. Because you cannot override the default warehouse, when you create a default warehouse location with a location type of Return for your staging warehouse, you need to make sure that it is the first default warehouse location record with a location type of Return. |
