Remarks on program function

The data for a generic display can be updated, i.e. programmed, changed or cleared, with this program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed.

The interface and link to a processing unit must also be defined in addition to the device-specific data of the generic display and the device-specific operating mode of the display must be set.

Remarks on data fields

The following details all options available for update of the basic data.

The following applies to this program:

The entry mask may differ in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program depending on the set-up of the user program. Some data fields may be missing.
Some data fields may have defaults or defined selection options so that they cannot be updated in this program.
The entry mask may contain fields with enforced entries, and in other fields entries may be optional.
If the data record is updated over several pages of entry masks the dialog window is reached by clicking on the appropriate button with <Mouse key 1>.
The procedure is the same if you want to call up another update program from this program.

In some cases you may find the so-called. "Switches" which are either activated or deactivated - depending on the setting - by clicking with <Mouse key 1>. Activated switches have a dark top, deactivated switches are lighter.

Debug

Field with firmly defined selection options

Select one of the offered debug levels by clicking on the field and confirming the selection with a second click.

The system offers the following debug levels:

0 = no protocol of data communication in file "errlog" (default)
1 =
2 =
3 =
4 = display all communication data in file "errlog"

Note:
Only select a value higher than "0" for the debug level if a protocol is required for communication with the device for error analysis. The data is provided in file "errlog" in directory work of the appropriate system unit.

Type

Select one of the offered types of display by clicking on this field and with a second click confirming the selection.

Note:
The prerequisite for selection of the display type is that the appropriate type is stored in the system. If no display type has been programmed, a click on the button will open the window Display description. The Display type can then be programmed.

The system offers the following display types:

Note!
The parameters of the customer display for the Baltic fiscal memory board should be set as follows:

9600 Baud
No Parity
8 Bit
1 Stop Bit
No Handshake.

The fiscal printer must be linked to the same device connection with identical parameters for the interface as the customer display.

Attention! This Display type is only available if the environment variable "OSCAR_OPTIONS=PanasonicHW" was set in the file "oscar.ini".

For this display, the device character set 3 is (JS 935 Display) created, to control the display and the display of umlauts. The new toggle, Activate DTR and Activate RTS must be disabled, otherwise the display remains inactive. As device interface, you must specify COM3.

Start scroll area

Entry range permitted: numeric

Enter the number of the line which is to be used for the start of the scrolling area.

End scroll area

Entry range permitted: numeric

Enter the number of the line which is to be used for the end of the scrolling area. The value entered here must be higher than the one used for the start scroll area.
