Remarks on program function

This program is used to update the data for the GS1 identifier, i.e. programming, changing or clearing. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed.

The GS1 identifier defines the following data element with its specified format and simplifying for processing the bar code data.

Enter in this program the GS1 identifier for all bar codes which should be used in MICROS Retail OSCAR POS.

Additionally the GS1 parameters has to be set up in program Parameter -> Misc. Param. -> GS1 parameter and has to be assigned to a branch in program Organisation -> Branch -> Details 4 iin field GS1 parameter.

Hinweis:
GS1 (Global Standards One) bar codes will be introduced on the market in 2010 an will replace the older EAN/UPC bar codes in a long run.

With the GS1 application Id (formerly EAN 128 application Id concept) it is possible to append additional data to the bar code.

For example, it is possible to add to the unique identification number a "charge number"or a "best before date" to the same encoded bar code.

Remarks on data fields

The following description deals with all available options for update of this basic data.

As with nearly all other programs the following also applies here:

• The entry mask for this program may differ in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program. Some data fields may be missing.
• There may be defaults or firmly defined selection options for some data fields. These cannot be updated in the current program.
• Fields with enforced entry defined are to be found in the entry masks as are fields where entry is optional.
• If the data record is updated over several pages of entry masks, the dialog window is reached by clicking on the appropriate button.
• The same procedure also applies to call up of another update program from this program.
• In some cases you may find so-called "Buttones" which are activated or deactivated by the user, depending on the setting. Activated Buttones have a dark top, deactivated Buttones are lighter.

Enter in this field a value, to determine the field length for this data element. (e.g.. "6" for date JJMMDD)

Schalter aktiviert: This data element has a fixed lenght with a number of digits entered in field "Field lenght".
Schalter deaktiviert: This data element has a variable lenght with maximum number of digits entered in field "Field lenght".
